The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI) is helping local manufacturers look at innovative ways to address the skills gap. As West Virginia’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, RCBI offers a variety of general and customized training courses that include its Machinist Technology/CNC Program, with a college degree option, as well as its model apprenticeship programs. RCBI’s blended learning approach integrates an online curriculum from Tooling U-SME and on-the-job (OTJ) training. Learn about RCBI’s program here.

ROLLOUT OF 2.0 ONLINE CLASS CONTENT BEGINS
 
 
 

A new screen layout, improved navigation, and additional toolbar options are hallmarks of Tooling U-SME’s new 2.0 online classes. The classes feature smaller amounts of onscreen text, rich visual imagery, and increased interactivity. According to the latest instructional design research, students retain more information when online classes contain these features.

To date, 70 of our legacy online classes have been rolled out into the 2.0 format.

As always, we continue to provide quality and value to our customers, and we’re committed to describing complex manufacturing topics as clearly and concisely as possible with our over 500 unique class titles.
