Over the past several months, SME has announced some important partnerships with leading manufacturing organizations to not only accelerate the development of advanced technologies but, these alliances will also strengthen the workforce.
The latest in this growing list of strategic pacts is Tooling U-SME’s recent announcement about partnering with the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI). As part of a new agreement with the IACMI, our organizations – along with members of the IACMI – will collaborate to expand the availability of advanced training for the composites manufacturing workforce. Together, we will leverage the progress of composites technology to understand the needs of this sector fully.
Eventually, these efforts will turn into the creation and implementation of learning and development solutions that will best serve our workforce. As the composites market transforms, Tooling U-SME will begin deploying its existing customized learning and development programs to the IACMI’s full membership base.
Constant changes in areas such as technology necessitate the launch of collaborations between stakeholders in the manufacturing industry, especially if we want to keep up with ongoing advancements and ensure the vitality of skilled talent.
So, we are confident that by aligning with organizations like the IACMI, Manufacturing Extension Partnership, America Makes and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills, we will be able to create innovative advanced training programs that can significantly enhance the skills of today’s and tomorrow’s workforce.
With growth potential for the composites manufacturing industry expected to reach $10.6 billion by 2022, we know partnerships like these make good business sense, and they continue to be a priority for us. We also understand the opportunities in the composites sector and that there is more work to be done. By working with the IACMI, and its members, we will be able to provide unparalleled advanced training programs to maintain a thriving U.S. workforce.
Tooling U-SME and the IACMI bring great strengths to the table, and we’re committed to working together to increase technological breakthroughs and build a healthy workforce.
We want the industry to prosper, so we will continue to seek out and partner with companies and other organizations that allow us to do what we do best, develop industry-leading training solutions that build high-performers!
